Wedding Bells for June? Evert and Norman to Marry This Summer

In Tennis.com's Chatter from the Sidelines page, there is an UNCONFIRMED article that says Chrissie & Greg will marry in June. The article says, "The former World No. 1’s were neighbors in Florida and shared Evert’s Boca Raton home according to reports, but Norman has purchased a luxury palazzo, which they will likely share, inspired by the Doge’s Palace in Venice. The home, “Villa Venezia,” worth more than $20 million dollars and boasting 52 rooms, sits on 3.77 acres of prime waterfront real estate in Palm Beach. The 28,000 sqft home is also rich in history, formerly owned by the wife of late publishing mogul Randolph Hearst."

Unfortunately this claim about the home is also rumoured to be false. But you can check out a photo page here of the DreamCastle Home causing all the ruckus.

ChrisAttended the 35th Anniversary of Family Circle Cup & Tribute Dinner for Lee Jackson

Chris Evert will attend the 35th Anniversary of The Family Circle Cup tennis tournament, which Chrissie won more than any other player in history, on April 12-20. She will not be going to commentate, but may visit the booth.

In addition to visiting with sponsors & signing autographs, Chris will be attending a dinner & tribute for legendary tennis official Lee Jackson, who passed away this past December. Read about her life and contributions to the game here.

Norman Professes Love for Evert on NBC Weekend Telecast

On the December 8 telecast of the Merrill Lynch Shootout, Greg Norman told NBC about his relationship with Chris Evert, "She's been phenomenal for me, to me in the last year and a half. It's just been tremendous. We've both known each other for a long period of time, since 1976-77. ... We both followed our respective careers all the way through and here we are. She's a very, very special person.''

"She's beautiful,'' Norman said. "I love her to death. ... Like I've said, I've found a place I've never found before.''

NAVRATILOVA JOINS CHRIS ON COURT FOR CHARITY!

Chrissie's $15.6 million annual fundraiser BECAME A $16.8 MILLION fundraiser with this weekend's earnings November 2 - 4, 2007. Martina Navratilova joined Chrissie on court after four years away from the event, with Evert & Gavin Rossdale beating Navratilova & Scott Foley 6-3. In addition, Jim Courier, Jana Novotna, Mark Philippoussis, Mary Carillo, Murphy Jensen, and Bud Collins were there from the tennis world. Chrissie was joined by former President George Bush, Jon Lovitz, Gavin Rossdale (lead singer of 'Bush'), Don King, Jerry Van Dyke, Greg Norman, Full House's Candace Cameron, Gala emcee Stone Phillips and live music from KC & the Sunshine Band!

Chrissie was at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on October 24 at 6:30 pm to receive a Sports Award for excellence as an athlete on and off the court-- for exceling as a competitor and champion, but also for making a difference in her community.

Also being celebrated at the 13th Annual ALS Awards Benefit were baseball pioneer Jackie Robinson (whose daughter will be present to accept the award) and ex-Yankee catcher Joe Girardi. The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit voluntary health organization whose sole mission is to find a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). OCT 12 - Australia's Herald Sun reports, "SPORT'S new super couple Greg Norman and Chris Evert were all smiles at the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Awards at Crown last night.

Evert was dressed in a stunning full-length Colette Dinnigan gown."

If you were listening closely to the Wimbledon Championships broadcasts this year, you may have heard some good news about Evert Tennis Academy student, Madison Brengle, one of the USTA High Development girls who has already moved to ETA.

She lives and trains with the Academy (and her USTA coaches) when she is not travelling.

Madison was a finalist at Jr. Wimbledon. She lost in 3 sets to Urzula Radwanska of Poland in the final.

Chrissie's son, Alex, is 'IN THE NEWS!'

With so much attention always going to his famous parents, tennis legend Chris Evert and Olympic skier Andy Mill, it's great to see that Alex Mill --now 15 years old, the same age Chrissie was when she famously downed world number one Margaret Court in straight sets-- is making a name for himself in skateboarding.

This August 4th article in the Aspen Times is a great read, stating "Alex, a slender 15-year-old who bears a striking resemblance to his mother, looks like he's as much as ease on four wheels as Mill on skis or Evert with racket in hand."

Sister Andrea Jaeger visited the Chris Evert Children's Hospital last week. Chrissie met her there and they dropped in on many sick children and brought them toys. NBC covered this visit.

The Today Show piece aired Friday, Feb 2nd in the 8:00am hour and the Nightly News piece airs Friday night at 6:30pm EST.

L'il Chrissie signs autographs for lines of fans at the USO

Chris Evert was at Grand Central Station on Friday August 25 at 9 am along with other tennis greats including Rafael Nadal and Kim Clijsters, who were in attendance throughout the day from 7 am until 6 pm. She was also at American Express @ Madison Square Park in a chat with Mary Carillo on Tuesday, August 29 at 1 pm.

Then, Chris was on the CBS Early Show on September 7. Chrissie gets on court for the feature and you can still catch her hilarious video segment here!

Chrissie spoke at the US Open's "Night of Legends" Ceremony to honor Billie Jean King as the National Tennis Stadium was re-named after her. This took place on Monday August 28 at the start of the evening session. Diana Ross performed. Information about the event is on the attached pdf file.

Chrissie was at the "Wimbledon" movie premier (See movie trailer here!) in LA on Sept. 13th, as usual in stunning style. The whole family was on-hand for the festivities. Below, Chris is with husband Andy Mill and their three sons, Alexander, Nicholas, and Colton. The movie was released on DVD Dec 28.

As some of you may have seen on The Tennis Channel, Chrissie was in Newport, Rhode Island as part of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Tennis Hall Of Fame. As the articles all say, Chris received--to no surprise--the largest applause of all the Greats on hand, including John McEnroe, Margaret Court, & Rod Laver.
