WORLD TEAM TENNIS SUMMARY, 1976
                Chris makes her WTT debut for the Phoneix Racquets under player-coach Tony Roche, playing singles and partnering with Kristien Kemmer Shaw in doubles.  (Other Racquets included Stephanie Tolleson, Andrew Pattison, and Butch Walts.)   Chris wins the Female MVP award, the Female Rookie of the Year, and the scoring leader title with a record of 33 sets won and only 6 lost.  Phoenix ends the regular season atop the Western Division but loses the best-of-three divisional playoff series to the San Francisco Golden Gaters.  On the opening night of the playoffs, Betty Stove upsets Chris 7-6.  By the end of the season in August, Chris has developed an inflamed tendon in the middle finger of her right hand; the injury keeps her from making her first appearance on the U.S. Federation Cup team (matches played Aug. 22-29 at the Spectrum in Philadelphia).
